PETERSFIELD.

THE BRITISH SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY.—The nineteenth anniversary of the British School, was held on Tuesday last, when the charming weather caused a numerous body of visitors to congregate. In the afternoon the public examination of the children was held, and exhibited most creditably the persevering energy of the master, Mr. Fairbairne. A tea meeting took place at 5 o’clock which was crowded to excess, after which a public meeting was held, the Rev. W. Goobey, Independent minister, in the chair. Addresses were delivered by the Revds. Mr. Mackean, of Harting; J. Eyres, of Midhurst; Keddle, of Stroud, &c., and also by Mr. Richard Green and Mr. W. Holder, &c.
