PETERSFIELD MUSICAL FESTIVAL—The prospects of success of the second Petersfield Musical Festival, to be held at the Drill Hall on Thursday, April 10th, are distinctly bright. The festival, it will be remembered, was splendidly inaugurated last year, and excited very great interest in the district. Still wider interest is likely to be manifested in this years competitions. More choirs have entered and some new challenge banners and prizes are being offered. The organization is again in the capable hands of Miss Craig Seller, to whom the inception of this most admirable institution is chiefly due. Mr. Arthur Somervell, than whom few are better qualified, will again officiate as judge, and Mr Henry Bird as accompanist. The choral competition will occupy the greater part of the day, and in the evening the choirs will unite in a grand concert, assisted by a number of first-rate artistes, when the challenge banners and prizes will be distributed by Mrs. Bonham Carter. Tickets are being rapidly booked, and we advise all who wish to attend the festival to make early application for them.
