PETERSFIELD.]—THE WIFE BEATING CASE—During the past week, Alfred Colebrooke, butcher, of the Square, Petersfield, who was committed on Tuesday, the 1st instant, from the Petersfield Petty sessions, to Winchester gaol, for want of sureties, for ill-using his wife, has been released from durance vile, by procuring the necessary bail, Mr. Forder, of Buriton, and Mr. James Stubbington, of the same parish, becoming his sureties.
