DOG LICENCES
THE COMMISSIONERS OF INLAND REVENUE GIVE NOTICE that all Dog Licences granted in the year 1867 expired on the 31st of December last, and that every person keeping a Dog in the current year is now required to take out a new Licence, the duty payable for each Dog kept being Five Shillings.
The penalty for keeping a Dog without Licence is £5. Post Office Orders, payable at the Chief Money Order Office, London; Inland Revenue Receipt or Postage Stamps, may be remitted for payment of duty to the Collector of Inland Revenue at PORTSMOUTH or SOUTHAMPTON, with a statement of the name and abode of the applicant, on receipt- of which a Licence will be forwarded.
Forms of application may be obtained at any Post Office.
Licences may be obtained on personal application at the Collector’s Offices before mentioned, and at the Stamp Offices in the following places. At places at a distance from the Offices named, Licences may be obtained from the Supervisor of Inland Revenue on his occasional visits. Notice of the times aft places of his attendance for this purpose will be given at least a week before the day of attendance.
