CLOSING OF THE PETERSFIELD SAVINGS BANK.
THE Trustees of the Petersfield Savings Bank, having determined on CLOSING THE BANK, beg to inform the Depositors that NO FURTHER DEPOSITS WILL BE RECEIVED AFTER THE 31st OF JANUARY, 1868.
The Interest on each account will be made up to the 20th of February. Or, if the account shall be previously closed, it will be made up to the day of Notice for closing.
After the 20th of February the Bank will be open every MONDAY and FRIDAY, from Eleven till One o'clock, for the purpose of Payments and Transfers.
Each Depositor will have the option of receiving the amount of his or her claim either in Cash, or by Certificate for transfer to a Post Office or other Savings Bank. But the whole amount must be taken in one form or the other—it cannot be paid partly in Cash and partly by Transfer.
For the convenience of Depositors two printed forms of Notice are prepared, either of which, (according as he may wish to receive in Cash or by Transfer,) may be filled up and signed by the Depositor, and sent to the Bank in due course.
Depositors who wish to receive IN CASH must give a fortnight's Notice. Those who wish to Transfer must give one week's Notice. Notice sent in on Mondays or Fridays, before 1 o'clock, will date from those days respectively; those sent at any other time will date from the Monday or Friday following the day on which they are received.
No payment can in any case be made, either in Cash or by Transfer, without the Depositor's Book.
The Bank will be finally closed on the last Monday in April, 1868.
By order of the trustees,
GIDEON DUPLOCK, Actuary,
Petersfield Savings Bank,
January 17th, 1868.
