CLOSING OF THE WORKING MEN’S READING ROOM FOR THE SEASON.—On Friday evening, between and 30 and 40 members assembled at the reading room, and partook of a bountiful and substantial supper, comprising roast and boiled beef, plum pudding, &c., with plenty of good beer. Our worthy rector, the Rev. J. M. Sumner, took the chair, supported by Mr. Small, and our esteemed curate, the Rev. H. Haigh, the vice-chair. During the evening several appropriate addresses were given by the reverend gentlemen, when harmony and good humour prevailed, and about ten o’clock a separation took place, all evidently gratified with the enjoyment throughout.
