PETERSFIELD v. BURITON.

On Monday last, one of those old fashioned matches took place at Buriton, in a meadow belonging to Edward Shenton Esq., which if not of the scientific play of the present time, at any rate afforded considerable amusement, to the parties assembled on the ground; and which ended in favour of Petersfield with five runs and four wickets to go down. At the conclusion of the game the village band struck up a merry tune, and headed the players to the ‟Five Bells” Inn, where they partook of refreshments.
