Petersfield.

CRICKET.—On Friday last a Match Cricket was played at Emsworth, between the Petersfield and Emsworth Clubs, when the weather was all that could be wished for. Emsworth having won the toss up, first took the willow, and in the first innings scored 69, and 95 runs in the second, total 161. Petersfield in the first innings having scored only 53 runs, had the up-hill task of getting 111 runs to tie. Nevertheless, nothing daunted, Petersfield placed themselves at the wickets, and soon ran up the score, when towards the close considerable excitement was manifested, and won the match with two wickets to spare. In the first innings Mr. Anderson obtained 3 wickets in one over, thus becoming entitled to a ‟New Hat.”
