PETERSFIELD.
A DISTRESSING INSTANCE OF SUDDEN DEATH.—One of the most awfully afflicting cases of sudden death occurred in this town on Monday evening last that has come under our notice to record, changing within little more than one short hour from the happy reunion of a brother and two sisters, after years of separation, to the final parting, by the hand of death, of one of the latter. It appears from the following melancholy facts that the deceased, Mrs. Heal, who has been for many years the proprietor of No. 13, Montague-place, Worthing (well known as a highly respectable lodging house), left her residence upon a visit to her sister, Mrs Young, of Havelock Tavern, Landport about three weeks ago, having previously been under medical treatment for dropsy and disease of the heart. It also appears that during the stay of deceased with her sister she was under the attendance of Dr. Parsons, of Southsea. The two sisters having decided to pay a visit to their brother, Mr. Lillywhite, in the Spain, reached the station here by the 7.40 train on Monday evening, and proceeded to his residence, when after a short time they repaired to the bedside, upon which he had laid from illness for nine weeks, where, sad to relate, whilst the three were once-again in happy family converse, the deceased leaned gently forward upon her sister, Mrs. Young, and expired, without even a sigh to notify the sad event taking place, leaving a husband and six sons (the youngest 21), to mourn their sudden and irreparable bereavement, the age of 57 years.
