PETERSFIELD.]—EARLY HARVEST.—Mr. Bridger, of Downgate farm, Steep, commenced harvesting operations on Monday, and from the present appearance, his crops are very prolific and luxuriant. In many places a good gentle rain would add much to the improvement of the crop generally; this commencement is full a fortnight earlier than the past year. In the hop gardens in the locality, the vine is looking well and healthy, and are already coming into burr, and the accounts generally are of a most favourable kind; we trust that an improvement will continue until they arrive at maturity.
