ELECTION INTELLIGENCE.

…

HAMPSHIRE.—The Conservative representatives of the Northern Division, Messrs. Beach and Booth, intend to seek re-election. Their return is not expected to be an unopposed one, for rumour gives Sir Henry Mildmay, Bart., an opponent in the Liberal interest. Colonel H. Hamlyn Fane, the present Conservative member for the southern division of Hampshire, has issued a brief address, soliciting a renewal of the confidence of the electors. In the city of Winchester, the members seek re-election. They are Mr. J. Bonham-Carter, Liberal, and Mr. W Simonds, Conservative. It is said to be the wish of the leading men on either side to continue to return the present members. At Andover Mr. Fortescue the liberal member, seeks to obtain the one seat now left to the borough Sir J. B. Karslake retiring from the contest in favour of another constituency. The Conservative party intend to oppose any person favourable to "dis-endowment and disestablishment." At Petersfield the Liberal member, Mr. Nicholson, will, in all probability, be re-elected without opposition.
