TO be SOLD by AUCTION, at the Red Lion Inn, Petersfield, by Messrs. WHITE and SON, on Wednesday, the 5th of January, 1842, at 12 o'clock at noon precisely,—A most desirable and valuable FREEHOLD PROPERTY, situate in the centre of South Harting, in the occupation of Mr. John Lever, General Warehouseman; consisting of on the ground floor, a spacious warehouse, 30ft. by 19ft., most conveniently fitted up for conducting an extensive trade in the various branches of business; a private entrance; two lofty front parlours; excellent back kitchen; brewhouse and warehouse united; in the basement a capital bake-house, with newly erected oven for baking twelve dozen loaves, with way thereto, front, and rear, also excellent dry cellarage; on the first floor are three airy front and one back chambers, with a large range of rooms in the rear that may be converted, if required, to form two more chambers; in the rear of the residence a malt house, with one floor, now used as a store house, a stable and two rooms adjoining, originally let off as a cottage. The said premises measure from east to west 84ft., and in depth 14ft.
In the rear of the house is a paved yard, and a well of pure water. Extensive GARDEN in the rear, with Piggeries and Offices, together with a rich MEADOW of ONE ACRE (more or less), with the timber, trees, and tellers growing thereon, separated only by a trout stream at the foot of the garden; detached a stone and wood built cart house, and small garden, with right of road to the meadow. The site of house, garden and premises, independent of the meadow, is from front to rear 182 feet east to west, in the rear north to south 74 feet or there-abouts; frontage of residence, &c., 57 feet, including a side passage to the garden from the front.
The Residence and Warehouse is brick built, Roman cement front and sashed, erected only a few years since at a great outlay, the whole being arranged with great comfort to the man of business, or at a small expence may be converted to a private residence for a genteel family. South Harting is a most delightful village, surrounded by other populous villages; an extensive trade has been conducted on these premises, and may be extended by any person having a capital to compete with, or go to good markets.
