     WHITSUN WEEK.—The last few days of glorious weather have cheered up both vegetable and animal life, and the members of the various friendly society in this neighbourhood have enjoyed themselves to their hearts content.—The Harting Friendly Society held their anniversary on Saturday last, at the White Hart Inn, when at one o’clock a first-rate dinner was placed before a numerous party of members and friends by host Pledger, which was highly enjoyed.—The Petersfield Friendly Society held their annual meeting at the Bell, on Whit Monday, when at the same time, host Moore placed an excellent spread on the tables, which was done ample justice to. This club was attended by ‟Bridger’s”celebrated Haslemere band.—The Buriton Friendly Society held its second anniversary at the Five Bells Inn, when Mr. and Mrs. Hall provided a capital dinner in the old club room, which gave great satisfaction.— The Golden Horse Friendly Society also held their anniversary at the above inn, in the Market-room. The whole of the clubs were attended by bands of music, and attracted large crowds of country people.
