PETERSFIELD HEATH FAIR—On Tuesday the forty-fourth anniversary of the fair took place in the Heath, when there was a full average supply of cattle, sheep and horses consisting in the former principally of Devons of very good quality. Trade was slow in the commencement, but upon the buyers coming in, business became brisk, and about half the number were sold at remunerative prices. The best lot in the fair was purchased by Mr. S. Seward, of Weston, from Mr. Thomas R. Brown. The sheep penned were between 4000 and 5000, the greater part of which were sold. Wethers realized from 34s. to 46s. Ewes from 33s. to 45s., and lambs from 25s. to 35s. Horses were larger in number than usual in strings and droves; in the former, were some very good and useful horses and colts shown by Mr. James Port, of Petersfield, Messrs. Palmer and Sadler, of Chichester, &c , and a fair number changed hands. The pleasure fair attracted a large number of visitors.
