PETERSFIELD.

FATAL ACCIDENT. — A sad accident occurred yesterday week, by which John Knight, aged 51 years, a general dealer at Froxfield, met with his death. The deceased had come to this town in the morning in his horse and cart, and returning in the afternoon the horse "bolted," the deceased being thrown in a sitting posture to the bottom of the cart, with his legs on the head-hoard. The cart must have gone against the bank at the side of the road and capsized, throwing deceased out. He was picked up insensible and taken home, where he received attention from Dr. Leachman, but he never recovered consciousness, and died on Sunday morning. The horse was not usually restive, and its running away cannot be accounted for. The jury returned a verdict of "Accidental death."
