PETERSFIELD.
A SEASONED MAILMAN.
Mr. John Nash, the mailman from Liphook through Petersfield and Horndean to Fareham, reaching this town at 9 30 p.m. and returning at 4 a.m., has completed 60,000 miles without taking one night’s rest. What renders the case the more astonishing still is, that, from his first journey in June, 1850, he has altogether completed the amazing number of 235,200 miles, in all weathers, a great portion of which being on high and exposed land, with only two nights’ rest since his commencement, having turned the ripe age of threescore years, and being in the enjoyment of sound health.
