PETERSFIELD.
CRICKET.—HARTING v. PETERSFIELD.—A very interesting and well-contested juvenile match of cricket was played at Harting between the above-named elevens on Thursday last, which afforded considerable amusement to a respectable attendance upon the ground. The weather was charming, and bright Sol lit up the beautiful scenery around, which gave additional life and spirit to the rising generation of willow wielders, whose play was good on both sides. The bowling of Prior and Chitty on the part of Harting, as also that of Barham on the part of Petersfield, was good, and the fielding of both very creditable,—the Harting boys having the advantage from the training of the Rev. <r. Gordon. At the conclusion of the match, which was in favour of Harting by two wickets, a liberal supply of tes, cake, &c., was partaken of, provided by Mr. and Mrs. Buckland, to which ample justice was done.
