     MARRIAGE OF MISS MARY JOLLIFFE.—The following paragraph, which we copy from the Morning Post of the 19th inst., will be read with interest by many in this locality, the bride being the daughter of our much-respected member:—

"Yesterday morning the marriage of Mr. Edward Birkbeck to Mary Augusta, youngest daughter of the Right Hon. Sir William George Hylton Jolliffe, Bart., M.P., took place at St. George’s, Hanover-square. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. Cecil Wynter, rector of Gatton, near Reigate; and the bride, who was given away by her father, was attended by the following young ladies, who officiated as bridesmaids: Lady Emily Montague, Lady Florence Montague, Lady Victoria Byng, Miss Cory, Miss Hylton Jolliffe, Miss Gurney, Miss Emma Gurney, Miss Birkbeck, Miss Alice Birkbeck, and Miss Hylda Hylton Jolliffe.  After the ceremony the wedding party and the relatives and friends proceeded to Sir William Jolliffe’s residence in Stratton-street, where a breakfast, prepared by Mr. Richard Gunter (who also provided the handsome wedding cake), was partaken of. The following company were invited:—The Earl and Countess of Strafford and Lady Victoria Byng, the Earl of Sandwich and the Ladies Montague, Viscount and Viscountess Sydney, the Dowager Viscountess Guillamore and Hon, Aurabel O’Grady, Lord and Lady Templemore, Viscount Hinchingbroke, Lord Garlic's, Lord and Lady de Blaquiere, Lady Jane Goding, Mr. and Lady Agnes Jolliffe, Mar. and Lady Mary Arkwright, Hon. Matilda Paget, Hon. Henry Cole, Hon. and Rev. Francis Byng, Hon. Mrs. Cuthbert, General Lawrenson, Colonel Edward Taylor and Mrs. Taylor, Colonel Howard-Vyse and Miss Howard-Vyse, Colonel Frederick Paget and Mrs. Paget, Major Leopold Paget and Mrs. Paget, Mr. Berkeley Paget, Miss Jolliffe, Mr. Thomas Jolliffe, Mrs. and the Misses Hylton Jolliffe, Mr. and Mrs. Grenville Wells, Mr. Sydney Jolliffe, Mr. Spencer Jolliffe, Mr. and Misses Birkbeck, Mr. and Mrs. William Birkbeck, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Birkbeck, Mr. H. Lubbock, Mr. B. Lubbock, Mr. and Mrs. Gurney and Misses Gurney, Miss Birkbeck, Mr. and Madame Bunsen, Mr. and Mrs. and Miss Wynter, Mr. Cameron, Mr. and Mrs. Catesby Paget, Miss Blake, Mr. and Mrs. Biddulph, Mr. A. Hammond, Mr. Graham Manners Sutton, Mr. J. Gurney, Mr. and Mrs. Somerville Gurney, Miss Jeschowitz, &c. In the course of the afternoon the newly-married pair left town for Tunbridge Wells, where the honeymoon will be passed.”

     The bells of our parish church rang merrily throughout the day.
