PETERSFIELD.

In the late inclosure of Petersfield Heath, in the parish of Buriton, a few rods of ground was allotted to Mrs. Kennett of Petersfield, being near Standbridge, and adjoining the road from Petersfield to Harting, whereupon tasty, well built, and comfortable cottages, under one roof, has been erected, and the ground prettily laid out. It is pleasing to record this act of the above named kind hearted and benevolent lady, who has given the same to three old inhabitants of Petersfield for their lives, viz., Widow Berriman, Jane Port, and Jane Chitty, with an allowance of 6s. per week each in addition, and who on Wednesday last took possession. The act speaks for itself, and needs no comment, and shows, in this instance, at least, that a common inclosure has been beneficial to the poor and needy.
