THE PETERSFIELD RAILWAY.
MIDHURST COMMON.— Whereas, in pursuance of the provisions of the ‟Petersfield Railway Act, 1860,” the ‟South-Western Railway Act, 1863,” and the several Acts incorporated therewith, or therein mentioned or referred to, some or one of them, the London and South-Western Railway Company are empowered to take, for the purposes of the Railway and Works authorised by the said first-mentioned Act, a certain PIECE or PARCEL of COMMON LAND, containing by admeasurement two acres two roods and twenty-five perches, or thereabouts, being parcel of certain Land in the Parish of Midhurst, in the County of Sussex, commonly called or known by the name of MIDHURST COMMON, being also parcel of a certain Piece of Land which, in the Map or Plan of the said Railway and the Book of Reference thereto deposited with the Clerk of the Peace for the aforesaid County, is distinguished by the Number 4 as to the said Parish of Midhurst; NOW THEREFORE THIS IS TO GIVE NOTICE, that the said Company, in pursuance of the power for this purpose conferred upon them by ‟The Lands Clauses Consolidation Act, 1846,” do hereby call or convene a MEETING, to be held at 3 o’clock in the afternoon, on MONDAY, the 3rd day of August next, at the ANGEL HOTEL, MIDHURST, in the County of Sussex, of all parties interested in commonable or other rights over or in the aforesaid Piece or Parcel of Land so required for the said Railway, as aforesaid, for the purpose of the said parties appointing, pursuant to the enactments in that behalf in the said Lands Clauses Consolidation Act, 1845, a Committee to treat with the said Company for the compensation to be paid for the extinction of such commonable or other rights.
