PETERSFIELD. April 18.
PETERSFIELD YOUNG MEN’S IMPROVEMENT SOCIETY.— A concert of a very successful character was given by the singing class in connection with this society on Friday in the National Schoolrooms, under the direction of Mr. Finley. The programme consisted of three parts, the first being sacred and the second and third secular; and the several parts were made up of solos, duets, choruses, anthems &c. It would be invidious to mention names where all were amateurs; but if we may form an opinion from the bursts of applause that followed almost every piece, we should say that the concert was a complete success. A vote of thanks, proposed by the Rev. J. M. Sumner, and seconded by the Rev. M. A. Smelt, was warmly and heartily accorded to the class.
