PETERSFIELD
FALL FROM A SWING.—An Accident of a serious nature occurred on Thursday week to the daughter of Mr. George Smart, cabinet maker, in the High-street. It appears that a swing had been affixed in a doorway and that the unfortunate child, who is ten years old, was swinging, when the rope breaking, threw her with great force, striking the back part of her head against the sill. She was taken up in a state of insensibility, with blood running from her ears, and was at once placed under the care of R. S. Cross, Esq., surgeon, and although she continued in a very precarious state for some days, she is now doing well.
