PETERSFIELD
NATIONAL SCHOOLS—Sermons were preached at the Church on Sunday last, in behalf of this most excellent institution—that in the morning by the Rev. H. W. Sheppard, rector of Emsworth; in the afternoon by the Rev. R.E. Coles; in the evening by the Rev. H. Haigh. Collections were made after the services, but we are sorry to find they fell somewhat short of the amount collected last year, which is much to be regretted, as since the passing of the Revised Code a much less amount of aid is received from Government, and it is only by increased local support that the schools can be maintained in their present highly efficient and beneficial condition.
