SHOCKING CIRCUMSTANCES AT PETERSFIELD. — On Monday last a poacher at Hawkley, while employed in his lawless pursuit, met with a serious accident. He had separated the barrel of his gun from the stock, and was carrying the two parts secreted under his coat ; the barrel was loaded and capped, and the muzzle resting under the armpit, when by some means the charge exploded, shattering the bone of his arm and lacerating the muscles in a dreadful manner. A consultation of surgeons advised the removal of the limb, which was taken from the socket by M. Pierey, esq. of Petersfield.
