PETERSFIELD.
SACRILEGE.—On Saturday, as Mr. James Head, who was employed in repairing the seats in the gallery of the parish church, in connection with the alteration of the organ, having left about 11 o’clock for a short time, found upon his return that the poor box standing between the two principal doors of entrance had been broken into and the contents gone. The police were immediately informed, and were directly in motion, and it is hoped that the base thief upon the deposit of the poor may be found, and held up to public desecration.
