PETERSFIELD.]—DESTRUCTIVE FIRE.—At New Common Farm, Froxfield. On Tuesday evening a large barn, with a machine, also a large shed filled with straw, also a poor donkey, were totally consumed by fire, in consequence of some children living close to the scene being allowed to play with Lucifer matches. The property destroyed is in the occupation of Mr. W. Carter, of Ring’s-green, near the Jolly Trooper, Froxfield, Hants. We are also sorry to announce that from a continuation of the dry weather there was no supply of water within two miles of the scene of destruction. We hear that the property destroyed is amply insured.
